1980
During the early 1980s, the construction industry was heavily challenged by inconsistent workmanship and low quality standards. Driven by the belief that engineering works could be delivered with greater reliability and precision, Building Contracts Services Pte Ltd was established to provide specialised waterproofing and fire protection solutions with a stronger commitment to quality and technical excellence.
1985
Strong partnerships have always been a core part of BCS Prokon’s foundation. In 1985, BCS merged with Prokon, forming BCS-Prokon Contractors Pte Ltd as it is known today. In the same year, the company established its long-standing partnership with WR Grace, marking the beginning of decades of collaboration with internationally recognised manufacturers and suppliers. Through a dedicated management team and consistent project delivery, BCS-Prokon steadily built a reputation for dependable workmanship and high industry standards.
1998
A major breakthrough came in 1998 when BCS-Prokon was awarded a significant waterproofing contract for MRT stations along the North-East Line. Backed by strong technical capabilities, careful planning, and trusted partnerships, the company successfully delivered complex infrastructure waterproofing works that would pave the way for future large-scale transport and underground projects across Singapore.
2006 - 2015
BCS-Prokon expanded its involvement across major MRT infrastructure developments, working closely with leading main contractors on stations, tunnels, and underground structures. This period marked a significant chapter of growth for the company, strengthening its technical expertise and industry recognition. With an established track record in large-scale infrastructure projects, BCS-Prokon was awarded the BCA L5 financial grading in the waterproofing category.
2015 - 2017
In 2015, BCS Myanmar was established as part of the company’s regional expansion into Myanmar. The company’s first project with Shwe Taung Development involved epoxy flooring works for the BMW showroom, followed by waterproofing and epoxy works at the landmark Junction City development in Yangon. This expansion reflected BCS-Prokon’s growing regional capabilities and continued pursuit of opportunities beyond Singapore.
